Who We Are
We began as a group chat on Facebook from a private group for women writers. From there we formed friendships, began collaborating on projects, and started helping each other to grow. Over a short period of time, we realized that what we had was special. Collectively and mindfully, we decided to form a collaborative group to help other indie creatives grow. We aren’t just for women, nor just for writers, we are for all indie creatives and the enthusiasts who support them. We would love for you to become a part of our ever-evolving story.
About World Indie Warriors
Imagine a place where creatives and those who appreciate creativity congregate to converse about artistic expression in its many forms, such as writing, photography, music, film, and things yet envisioned. The World Indie Warriors is a collective of people where we have created such a place.
We are creatives. We are also those who appreciate creative expressions. We are a supportive community where we help each other grow in creative endeavors through the development of our skills, our reach, and our vision of ourselves and what we can express. We have workshops and master classes to help develop our skills. We have forums to call upon each other to help brainstorm through creative blocks and improve upon skills. We are ever building upon an infrastructure to crowdsource promotional networks in order to support lifting up each other and shining spotlights on each other’s work. We are here to help each other grow and shine.
We are also the readers, the audience, the viewers of the creative expressions.
We seek artistic expressions that are outside of the status quo, the mainstream. We want to see fresh voices. We want to converse with the creators and have a dialogue about the work, because it speaks to us and we can say, yes, I feel you were speaking to me. We want a place to talk about things that matter to us in artistic expression. We want to talk about things we’d like to see in creative works and things we find puzzling or problematic. We want the choice to be part of the conversation and make a difference in how the human experience is expressed in creative works. We are part of the human experience. We want our voice to be a part of what is expressed.
What Makes Us Different
Integrity. Collaboration. Growth.
We aim for growth of indie creatives and the indie community. We will do this with respect and integrity through collaboration.
Our Community Standards
We are Indies! We colour outside the lines and call it art. Supporting authors who are living their dreams.
We only have 4 rules:
1. Respect each other and differing opinions.
If there are any issues please message World Indie Warriors or one of our Admins and we will do our best to help.
2. No bullying or hateful comments.
Same as above. If you need any help, just send us a message.
If, in the unlikely event that a persons words or actions are deemed to come under either of these, then Admins reserve the right to remove said person from the group.
3. For our closed Facebook group, no spam or promotion, unless in a designated post.
Facebook can be a pain and doesn’t like a lot of outside links being posted. We will have designated posts where you can post your published novels, poems, artwork, music and blogs etc. We’d love to see everyone’s work, but please keep links to a minimum.
4. Have fun!
Let’s try to keep this a positive space. Even Admins are here for the love of indie, this is not our job, so there maybe the occasional delay from us as we deal with work, kids and errant muses.
